About Me

securing an auto repair shop and parking lot

I own my own auto repair shop and have done rather well with it over the years. About a year ago, some of the cars parked outside of my garage were broken into and some things were stolen out of them. Since they were parked on my property, my insurance had to cover the cost of replacement which made my rates go up. I had to install a security system to appease the insurance company and provide my customers with the peace of mind that their vehicles would be safe with me. Install a Fire Alarm System

by Karen Welch

Incorporating a fire alarm system in a home automation system is a great way to have an extremely secure home. There are a lot of different benefits that come from having a fire system that is integrated into your security system. A fire can truly be a terrifying phenomena because it can consume a room of a home in the matter of minutes. A fire also does not pick and choose what it consumes, it will consume absolutely everything. However, having a great fire alarm system that is integrated into a security system can go a long way in keeping you and your home protected. Here are just a few of the benefits of having a fire alarm system.

Fire Department

When there is a house fire, every minute counts, and a fire alarm system will notify the fire department as soon as the alarm is tripped. This will get the authorities on their way as soon as possible. Usually you will be getting out of the home and looking for loved ones before you call the fire department. This is natural, but it takes precious time. Having an alarm call the department for you will save a great deal of time in getting them right to the home.

Smart Alarms

One huge benefit of having a fire system incorporated into an automation system, is that they are often connected with a thermostat. This may seem like something simple, but it does add a lot of value. If your smart thermostat reads that the temperature of the home is increasing too rapidly, it will turn off the power to the furnace. This will cool off many of the rooms, and can actually help keep the fire contained. It is the little things such as this that can ultimately save a home and more.

Home Owner's Insurance

Many of the top insurance companies recognize that having a home fire alarm system integrated into your security system as a great move for a homeowner. So, they actually will give you a discount on your homeowner's insurance. This is usually because they lose so many homes in fires each year that it is worth it to give out an incentive to get a fire alarm system in the home. If nothing else, you should be able to sleep better at night knowing that you have a fire alarm system protecting you against fire.
